vivo is building excitement around the X Fold6 ahead of its anticipated launch later this month. Following the announcement of OriginOS 6 Fold and its productivity-centric features, the company has revealed the chipset that will drive this innovative foldable device.
In a recent Weibo post, a vivo executive disclosed that the X Fold6 will be the first foldable smartphone globally equipped with the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset.

According to vivo, this customized processor has undergone over two years of development and is designed exclusively for foldable devices. It promises enhanced multitasking capabilities, quicker multi-window rendering, and improved AI performance, all while optimizing power efficiency.
The company states that the peak AI computing performance of the new chipset has surged by 111% compared to the previous-generation NPU, while power consumption has decreased by 56%. Additionally, the chipset facilitates 7% faster offline voice transcription and speech recognition, along with a remarkable 57% boost in text generation speeds.
