During the annual WWDC, Apple unveiled iOS 27 along with iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27, focusing primarily on enhancements for developers. However, the company also presented several new features, including the introduction of an AI-powered Siri.
CarPlay received significant attention, with new features including audio scrubbing within the Now Playing interface, improved GPS accuracy and navigation, a mini-player for audio within apps, and overall stability enhancements. The most noteworthy addition is the support for video apps.

Apple is now allowing developers to create CarPlay apps that can stream videos and permit users to stream videos directly from their iPhones using AirPlay. Notably, video playback will only be permitted when the vehicle is stationary.
The Siri AI feature will also be available on CarPlay, provided it is paired with an iPhone 15 Pro, Pro Max, or a newer model.
These new features are set to arrive on iPhones running iOS 27, which is currently available through the developer beta program. A public beta is expected to launch in July, with a stable release for all users scheduled for September, coinciding with the introduction of the new iPhone 18 series.
