Vivo set the benchmark with the X300 Ultra, a €2,000 camera flagship, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes in at a “modest” €1,500. Now, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra enters the arena with a competitive price tag of €1,700. Our review highlights its impressive features, but the final verdict on the competition between vivo and Oppo remains to be seen.
Additionally, we had the opportunity to try out the Hasselblad Earth Explorer Kit designed for the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. This kit includes a 300mm add-on lens, an adapter for 67mm filters, and a lens collar with a tripod mount.
Oppo Find X9 UltraFor those who find the kit excessive, the Oppo Find X9 Pro may be a more suitable option. The Ultra model is primarily beneficial for users looking to fully leverage its advanced camera system. While the Hasselblad kit is certainly an enhancement, the phone's built-in four lenses are more than adequate for most users, aligning with the phone's premium positioning.
Oppo Find X9 Ultra Highlights
The term “Ultra” varies among manufacturers; each brand defines it differently. The Oppo Find X9 Ultra competes with models like the vivo X300 Ultra and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. But does it belong in the same category as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, iPhone 17 Pro Max, Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Honor Magic8 Pro?
Ultimately, would you choose the Oppo Find X9 Ultra, or is another smartphone a better fit for your needs?
This week, Oppo also announced the Oppo Find X9s, along with the 6.3” X9s Pro, which is limited to the Chinese market. Both the X9 Ultra and X9s are set for a global launch, including a debut in India.
Oppo Find X9s
The Find X9s is a more affordable variant of the X9, featuring the Dimensity 9500s chipset instead of the standard 9500. Interestingly, despite its naming, the X9s shares more similarities with the Dimensity 9400 than with the 9500. Additionally, the X9s lacks the wireless charging option present in its pricier counterpart, although it retains the same 7,025mAh battery capacity and 80W wired charging capabilities.
Oppo Find X9s HighlightsThe exact pricing for the Oppo Find X9s is yet to be fully disclosed. For example, in Malaysia, the X9s is available for pre-order at MYR 3,600 (7% below its MSRP of MYR 3,900) for the 12/512GB variant, whereas the original X9 is priced at MYR 4,000 with no current discounts for the 16/512GB model. In summary, don’t expect significant discounts upon the X9s launch.
So, once launched, would you consider purchasing the X9s?
