Xiaomi is rapidly establishing itself in the automotive industry. The company recently announced impressive sales figures for April, delivering over 30,000 vehicles to customers—a significant increase from March's 21,440 cars.
While an official final number is pending, surpassing 30,000 is noteworthy, and the China Passenger Car Association typically provides the finalized data later in the month. This surge indicates that Xiaomi is overcoming earlier fluctuations and demonstrates its capacity for efficient vehicle production and distribution.

The company has ambitious goals for 2026, aiming to deliver 550,000 electric cars, representing over a 30% increase from the 410,000 sold in 2025. Achieving this target will require ongoing factory operations and customer satisfaction—a strategy that appears to be working effectively thus far.
A significant contributor to this momentum is the Xiaomi SU7, which is gaining popularity. By late April, 60,000 customers had already paid for orders of the updated version of the SU7, with 26,000 units delivered since its official launch on March 19.

Another key player in Xiaomi's lineup is the YU7 SUV, launched in June 2025. This model has quickly become a best-seller and competes directly with the Tesla Model Y, with 231,000 units delivered in just ten months.
Looking ahead, Xiaomi is poised to unveil the high-performance YU7 GT, described by the company as a "pure-blooded" GT, engineered for sports driving while ensuring comfort for long journeys. The official launch is scheduled for the end of May.

According to government filings, the YU7 GT measures 5,015 mm in length, 2,007 mm in width, and 1,597 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, providing ample space for passengers and luggage. Despite its size, this SUV is engineered for remarkable speed.
Equipped with two electric motors, the YU7 GT generates a combined power output of 738 kW (approximately 990 hp), allowing it to reach a top speed of 300 km/h. The vehicle can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in just two seconds.

While extreme speeds may not be a daily necessity, the YU7 GT features an impressive battery that offers a range of 705 km on a single charge, based on China's CLTC testing cycle. Upon release, the anticipated price range for the vehicle is between RMB 450,000 and RMB 500,000 (approximately €56,300 to €62,500). As of late April, Xiaomi operates 495 stores across 143 cities, with plans for further expansion in May.
