Google Photos Introduces AI Enhance for All Users Worldwide

Google is actively expanding its editing capabilities in Google Photos. Recently, the tech giant introduced a quick facial touch-up feature, and now it has launched a new tool: the “AI Enhance” button. This feature is located next to the existing Enhance and Dynamic buttons in the Auto tab of the image editor.

Google Photos AI Enhance is now live for all users

We tested the AI Enhance tool and found that it effectively restores highlights and shadows, addresses common lighting issues, and slightly boosts colors. However, while it performs these tasks competently, it does not offer anything groundbreaking compared to other AI enhancement solutions already available. Nevertheless, subtlety can be valuable in photography, and this new tool adds to our creative options. Notably, the AI Enhance feature is now available globally for all Android users at no cost.

Interestingly, Google has noted that “output varies by device,” suggesting some processing may occur on-device. However, we attempted to use the feature completely offline, and it did not function, indicating it is not entirely independent.
