This week, Honor launched the Honor 600 and Honor 600 Pro for the global market, with Malaysia and Europe being the first to receive them.

Note that the prices mentioned for Europe are the manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRPs). Currently, Honor is running a promotional offer where the 512GB Honor 600 is priced at €500 and the 512GB Honor 600 Pro at €800. This promotion also includes a complimentary screen replacement for the first 12 months. Additionally, buyers of the Pro model can choose between a free Honor Pad X8a or an Honor Choice Projector Air Pro.

This promotion is certainly enticing. For context, last year's pricing saw the Honor 400 256GB retail for €500 and the 400 Pro 512GB for €800. We will compare the new models to the 400 series since Honor's release strategy can be somewhat unconventional—while even-numbered models (200, 400, 600) are available globally, odd-numbered models (300, 500) remain exclusive to China.

The Honor 600 features a new Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a significant upgrade from the Gen 3 in its predecessor, along with enhanced water resistance (IP68/IP69K compared to IP65 or IP66). Additionally, the device is now slightly thicker at 0.5mm, allowing for an increased battery capacity of 6,400mAh for Europe and 7,000mAh globally, up from 5,300mAh for Europe and 6,000mAh globally.

The Honor 600 Pro represents a more substantial redesign compared to its predecessor. While it retains the same overall size and 6.57” display as the standard model, it boasts an upgraded Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, surpassing the previous 8 Gen 3. The battery capacity mirrors that of the standard model—6,400mAh for Europe and 7,000mAh globally, up from the previous Pro's 5,300mAh/6,000mAh.

When comparing the Honor 600 and Honor 600 Pro, the differences primarily lie in the chipset and camera configurations. Both phones sport a 200MP main camera (1/1.4” sensor), a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP front-facing camera. However, the Pro version also includes a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x zoom. Although both devices support 80W wired charging and 27W reverse charging, the Pro model adds 50W wireless charging capability.

Last year's poll showed a favorable reception for the Honor 400 Pro, but there were concerns that the standard Honor 400 needed a price reduction. Do you feel the same about the Honor 600, or do you think the upgraded hardware justifies its €500 price tag, especially considering the overall price increases in the market?

As for the Honor 600 Pro, the distinction from the standard model seems less pronounced this year, focusing more on performance enhancements, a telephoto camera, and wireless charging, all at a premium cost. Is it worth the investment?

We are currently reviewing both the Honor 600 and Honor 600 Pro, so stay tuned for an in-depth analysis of their features, strengths, and weaknesses.
