Hyundai has faced challenges in the Chinese market but is now embarking on a transformative journey with the launch of the Ioniq V. Developed specifically for China in collaboration with Beijing Automotive Group Co. (BAIC), this vehicle marks the beginning of Hyundai's reinvention strategy since establishing the joint venture Beijing Hyundai in late 2024.

The Ioniq V made its debut today at the Beijing Auto Show, although some critical specifications remain undisclosed, and images of the car's rear are notably absent.

With a length of 192.9 inches, a width of 74.4 inches, and a wheelbase of 114.2 inches, the Ioniq V boasts a commendable range of up to 373 miles based on the CLTC standard.

The interior features a large 27-inch 4K screen paired with a Horizon head-up display, offering drivers vital information directly in their line of sight. An eight-speaker audio system equipped with Dolby Atmos comes standard, while the suspension is designed for optimal comfort and stability across a variety of road conditions. Hyundai has also committed to minimizing road and wind noise within the cabin.

As expected, the Ioniq V features an intelligent AI assistant powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8295 chipset. Driver assistance technologies are provided by Momenta, while the battery is sourced from CATL, although its capacity remains unspecified.

Looking ahead, Hyundai plans to introduce an SUV model in China, alongside an ambitious roadmap to launch 20 new cars over the next five years, including battery and electric vehicles. The company aims to achieve annual sales of 500,000 units with this refreshed strategy. Further details on the Ioniq V's specifications are anticipated soon.
