The first iPhone was unveiled in January 2007 and officially released in June of that year. In 2027, Apple will celebrate the 20th anniversary of this groundbreaking device. Anticipation has built around what special offerings the company might unveil, and a recent leak from Digital Chat Station on Weibo suggests intriguing developments.
According to the reliable leaker, Apple is collaborating with Samsung to create the screen for the 20th anniversary iPhone. This new panel is set to feature a quad-curved design and will be notable for its lack of a polarizer, with the curvature radius customized specifically by Apple.

After years of favoring flat displays—setting a design trend that influenced the entire Android market—Apple seems poised to pivot toward a new design aesthetic, potentially 'inventing' the quad-curved display that has previously been adopted by various Chinese smartphone manufacturers.
The new panel will not only be modernized, but the absence of a polarizer promises to slim down its profile. However, it is worth noting that this would not be the first smartphone to eliminate the polarizer. It remains uncertain how far the display will extend over the edges; although there were earlier rumors of an 'all-screen' design, current display technology may still pose limitations. We will share more details as they emerge.
