Spotify Introduces New Feature to Disable Video Content Across All Devices
In response to user feedback, Spotify is rolling out a new feature that allows users to turn off video content across all platforms. This update aims to enhance user experience by giving listeners more control over their content preferences.
Starting later this month, Spotify will offer updated video controls that enable users to entirely disable video content within the app. This functionality will be available globally to all users, including those on free accounts.
To manage your video preferences, simply navigate to Settings > Content and Display. From there, you can choose to disable Canvas looping visuals as well as videos for both music and podcasts. Once your preferences are set, they will be saved across all devices, including mobile, desktop, web, and TV.
While users on the free plan will still encounter video advertisements and Canvas-like visuals on certain audio ads, this new option to deactivate video content reflects Spotify's acknowledgment of user preferences. Many listeners have expressed that video content was not a necessary addition to their listening experience. With this upcoming feature, Spotify aims to provide a more personalized experience for each user.
