Apple Strengthens American Manufacturing Initiative with New Collaborations

In an effort to bolster domestic manufacturing and reduce reliance on overseas production, Apple continues to invest in its American Manufacturing Program (AMP). This initiative highlights Apple's commitment to bringing more of its supply chain and production processes to the United States. Recently, the tech giant announced additional partners joining the program.

This latest announcement sees Bosch, Cirrus Logic, TDK, and Qnity Electronics added to the AMP roster, which already includes notable companies such as Amkor, Applied Materials, Broadcom, Coherent, Corning, GlobalFoundries, GlobalWafers America, MP Materials, Samsung, and Texas Instruments.

Apple Manufacturing Partners

TDK is set to manufacture sensors domestically for the first time, contributing to features like camera stabilization in iPhones. Additionally, Bosch will collaborate with TSMC to develop integrated circuits essential for innovative features like Crash Detection and Activity Tracking at TSMC’s Washington facility.

Meanwhile, Cirrus Logic and GlobalFoundries are working together to introduce new semiconductor process technologies at GlobalFoundries' New York facility. This partnership aims to enhance Apple products by allowing Cirrus Logic to create advanced mixed-signal solutions for applications such as Face ID systems.

Moreover, Qnity Electronics and HD MicroSystems will focus on delivering innovative materials and technologies critical for semiconductor manufacturing and advanced electronics. The initiative is also aimed at pioneering advancements in high-performance computing and artificial intelligence, which are vital for reinforcing America’s position in cutting-edge technology.
