Introducing the Xiaomi Redmi A7 Pro: A Budget Phone with Impressive Features
Xiaomi has unveiled its latest budget-friendly device, the Redmi A7 Pro, aimed at users who seek functionality without breaking the bank. Currently launched in Italy and Indonesia, this smartphone aims to deliver quality performance and notable features comparable to its predecessors.
The Redmi A7 Pro offers a large 6.9” display, powered by full Android 16 / HyperOS 3. Unlike the lighter Go Edition found in the Redmi A5 and Poco C71, this model is more capable but also requires a bit more from its hardware. Underneath the hood, it runs on the Unisoc T7250 chipset, which, while somewhat dated, should still meet the demands of everyday users. With 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and storage options of either 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.2 (along with support for microSD expansion), it’s designed with flexibility in mind.

This budget device does not skimp on important features like a 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint reader, catering to users who appreciate these elements in their smartphones.
In terms of pricing, the Redmi A7 Pro is positioned attractively, costing €130 for the 4GB/64GB variant and €150 for the upgraded 128GB version in Italy. In Indonesia, prices are set at IDR 1,650,000 and 1,800,000, respectively. On top of that, buyers will receive two months of Spotify Premium as a bonus, adding additional value to this cost-effective option.
The device boasts a sizable 6.9” LCD screen, although with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels, which may disappoint some users. It can achieve a peak brightness of 800 nits in High Brightness Mode and features DC dimming. Although there's no official IP rating for water resistance, the touchscreen is functional even with wet fingers.
Battery life is one of the standout features, with a 6,000mAh capacity promising nearly 2.5 days of regular usage. Users can expect to enjoy video playback for up to 35 hours or music for up to 77 hours on a single charge. The Redmi A7 Pro supports 15W charging and is rated for 1,000 charge cycles, which is significantly better compared to its predecessors that only come with a 5,200mAh battery.
Color options for the A7 Pro include Black, Mist Blue, Palm Green, and a vibrant Sunset Orange (specific to Indonesia). The phone itself measures 171.6 x 79.5 x 8.15mm and weighs 208g, making it substantial yet manageable in hand.
The T7250 chipset includes a 4G modem with dual standby support, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.2 compatibility. For location tracking, it supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou, although it does not come with NFC.

On the camera front, the device offers modest specifications: a 13MP main rear camera accompanied by a basic 8MP front-facing camera. Both cameras support 1080p video recording at 30fps but fall short compared to the imaging capabilities of higher-end smartphones.
As a final note, there has been no information about a non-Pro version of the Redmi A7 yet.
