According to Won-Joon Choi, “We’re working on a more advanced technology within the S Pen to come up with a new structure of display, so the penalty of having the S Pen is diminished. The S Pen will continue to be one of the core technologies."
Despite these statements, the recent report from ETnews indicates that plans for a digitizer-free pen are currently on hold. The digitizer is crucial as it enables stylus input. Samsung employs Electromagnetic Resonance (EMR) technology for its S Pen, which relies on creating an electromagnetic field between the stylus and the screen.
