As excitement builds for Apple's next generation of smartphones, new reports suggest significant design tweaks coming to the iPhone 18 series and the iPhone Air 2. While earlier rumors implied a complete elimination of the Dynamic Island, it appears that the tech giant has opted for a more refined approach with a smaller version of this feature across the lineup.
According to the latest insights from renowned leaker Ice Universe in China, every model in the iPhone 18 series—including the base iPhone 18 and the eagerly anticipated iPhone Air 2—will benefit from this enhancement. This design change signals a continued focus on optimizing user experience while maintaining some visual familiarity.
It's noteworthy that despite the change in the Dynamic Island's size, the screen bezels of the new models will remain unchanged compared to the iPhone 17 series and the existing iPhone Air. Therefore, the most prominent user-facing modification will be the minimized pill-shaped cut-out for the Dynamic Island, which can be seen as a welcome refinement over its predecessors.
In addition to the aesthetic upgrades, all models are expected to receive the customary performance boost with a new chipset. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are slated for release this fall, alongside the long-speculated iPhone Fold (or possibly the iPhone Ultra).
