While Samsung has not yet officially announced them, invites for the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event leaked earlier today, indicating it will take place on February 25. Similar to last year, three models will be unveiled: Vanilla, Plus, and Ultra. Renders and key specifications for these models have been leaking for some time, and new details have emerged. This article focuses on the Galaxy S26 and S26+, with the Ultra model to be covered separately.
Renderings indicate that the Galaxy S26 and S26+ differ only in size. Below is a comparison of unofficial measurements for these models alongside their predecessors.
| Galaxy S25 | Galaxy S26 | Galaxy S25+ | Galaxy S26+ | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.2” | 6.3” | 6.7” | 6.7” |
| Height | 146.9mm | 149.6mm | 158.4mm | 158.4mm |
| Width | 70.5mm | 71.7mm | 75.8mm | 75.8mm |
| Thickness | 7.2mm | 7.2mm | 7.3mm | 7.3mm |
| Weight | 162g | 137g | 190g | 190g |
| Battery | 4,000mAh | 4,300mAh | 4,900mAh | 4,900mAh |
The Galaxy S26 will be notably lighter than its predecessor, despite maintaining the same thickness. Additionally, the S26 will feature a slight increase in screen size to 6.3”, resulting in a taller and slightly wider chassis. The S26+ will retain its 6.7” display, although it is expected to have a new protective glass.
There are indications that the standard model may upgrade to 45W charging, matching the S26+, while the S26 Ultra could feature faster 60W charging. The S26 also appears to include a larger battery, as reflected in the table (+300mAh).
All S26 variants will support magnetic Qi2 charging and satellite communication. The base model is expected to finally include Ultra Wideband (UWB) support, which has been absent in previous versions and is essential for tracking tags.
Samsung Galaxy S26 (speculative renders)
While the renders so far depict a black version of the phone, the Galaxy S26 and S26+ are expected to be available in three additional colors: white, violet, and blue.
The Galaxy S26+ (and S26 Ultra) were recently benchmarked on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, although it's unclear which regions might receive the Exynos 2600 variant. Notably, the vanilla model will now feature 256GB of base storage, a change that could lead to a price increase.
