Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced today that the company's controversially named "Full Self Driving" (FSD) package, which does not provide full autonomous driving capabilities, will shift to a subscription model.
Starting February 14, customers will no longer have the option to purchase the FSD package as a one-time payment. Instead, it will only be available through a monthly subscription service, reflecting the growing trend towards subscription models across various industries.
Tesla will stop selling FSD after Feb 14. FSD will only be available as a monthly subscription thereafter.

The subscription for FSD will be priced at $99 per month, while the previous one-time payment option was set at $8,000. This pricing means that subscribers will only reach the total of $8,000 after 80 months, which is more than six years, suggesting that the subscription model may be less unfavorable than it initially appears.
