According to noted leaker Roland Quandt, the Pixel 10a will be available in four vibrant colors: Obsidian, Berry, Fog, and Lavender. The device will maintain its predecessors' storage options, coming in both 128GB and 256GB variants, similar to the Pixel 9a.

Early Launch Date

Google has seemingly accelerated the release schedule for the Pixel 10a, which is now expected to hit the market around mid-February, nearly two months ahead of its predecessor.

Minor Refresh with New Colors

The Pixel 10a is anticipated to be a slight upgrade over the Pixel 9a, featuring a design that appears largely unchanged with thick bezels persisting. The phone will reportedly utilize a refined version of the Tensor G4 chip.
While some specifications, such as screen brightness, may receive enhancements, the overall incremental nature of the changes has led to speculations about the device's appeal.

The new color options, however, could add a fresh appeal. For instance, the Nest Cam Indoor shares the vibrant Berry color, while the Nest Thermostat offers a chic Fog hue, which might resonate well with consumers.

The Pricing Dilemma

The anticipated design and specifications hint at Google’s intent to create a clearer distinction between its premium and budget models. With Pixel shipments increasing by 25% in 2025, the company may be strategically positioning itself to encourage consumers towards higher-end devices. This raises questions about whether the Pixel 10a is destined to be overshadowed.

If Google wishes to salvage the Pixel 10a's success, competitive pricing could be crucial, unless they have surprises planned for the launch.
