Exploring the Oppo Reno15 Pro: A Hands-On Review of the Latest Smartphone

Source: Date:

We recently had the opportunity to get a hands-on experience with the new Reno15 series during Oppo's global launch event. This article highlights the Indian version of the Reno15 Pro, which is marketed as the Reno15 Pro Max in certain other regions.

To clarify, the Indian Reno15 Pro features a 6.78-inch display, while the Indian Reno15 Pro Mini (a 6.32-inch model) is simply referred to as the Reno15 Pro internationally.

In India, the lineup consists of the Reno15 Pro Mini on the left (known as the Reno15 Pro elsewhere), followed by the Reno15 in the center, and the Reno15 Pro (designated as the Reno15 Pro Max outside of India) on the right.

The Reno15 and Reno15 Pro Mini models showcase a unique texture on their back panels, producing a lustrous effect when illuminated from certain angles. Conversely, the Reno15 Pro features a smooth matte finish that feels nice to the touch and effectively resists smudges and fingerprints.

The rear camera setup on the Reno15 Pro is comprehensive, beginning with a 24mm f/1.8 wide-angle lens utilizing a 200MP sensor. This is accompanied by an 85mm (3.5x) f/2.8 telephoto lens with a 50MP sensor, alongside another 50MP sensor behind a 16mm f/2.0 ultrawide lens featuring autofocus. Additionally, there’s a 50MP sensor housed in the front for the 18mm f/2.0 selfie camera.

In terms of design, the 1.8mm AG glass camera island is seamlessly integrated with the rear panel, a feature Oppo describes as sculpted glass. The various finishes beneath the glass yield distinctive reflections; Oppo claims the square ring around the camera module can softly illuminate when caught by light. This innovative approach to glass design is quite appealing.
