Is the Motorola Signature Your Next Smartphone? Dive into Its Features and Specs

Motorola has had an inconsistent history with flagship releases in recent years, with its Edge series sometimes featuring an Ultra model and other times not. Now, the company has introduced the Signature line to target the premium market, starting with an intriguing first model.

The Motorola Signature is not a full-fledged flagship but is priced significantly lower than its competitors; the 12/512GB variant retails for approximately £900/€1,000 in Europe. For comparison, devices like the vivo X300 Pro are priced €400 higher, while the OnePlus 15 matches the €1,000 mark.

This device is relatively slim and lightweight, measuring 7.0mm in thickness and weighing just 186g. While many users may not prioritize slim profiles, the lightweight design is appealing—it is 47g lighter than the iPhone 17 Pro Max and features a larger 5,200mAh battery. Additionally, it supports rapid 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, surpassing the offerings from Apple, Google, and Samsung this year.

The Signature boasts a 6.8” LTPO display with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1264p+ resolution, complete with an ultrasonic fingerprint reader underneath. It also includes a fast USB-C 3.1 Gen2 port with DisplayPort 1.4 capability, allowing for connection to external displays.

However, the Signature falls short of the very top flagship models in two key aspects: the chipset and camera specifications. It is powered by the non-Elite Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, which is positioned below last year's Elite chip and the new Elite Gen 5. Despite this, it is still a capable processor.

The camera system consists of four 50MP modules. The primary camera features a sizable 1/1.28” sensor (Sony LYT-828), alongside a 3x/71mm telephoto lens with a 1/1.95” sensor, and a 122° ultra-wide camera. The fourth module is a 21mm selfie camera equipped with an autofocus f/2.0 lens. While not on par with Ultra-grade cameras, these sensors are larger than those found in the OnePlus 15.

The device runs on Motorola's Hello UI, which is user-friendly, and the Smart Connect (formerly known as Ready For) feature offers a desktop mode. Moreover, the phone is promised to receive 7 years of OS updates.
