As previously rumored, Apple has officially selected Google’s Gemini as the driving force behind its upcoming enhanced Siri. This multi-year partnership will utilize Google's Gemini models and cloud technology for future Apple foundational models, as stated in a release obtained by CNBC.

Apple stated:
After careful evaluation, we determined that Google’s technology provides the most capable foundation for Apple Foundation Models, and we’re excited about the innovative new experiences it will unlock for our users.
Following the announcement, shares of both Apple and Google experienced an uptick. The AI-enhanced Siri has faced repeated delays, with Apple acknowledging one in March. At that time, the company promised the updated Siri would be launched "in the coming year," which concludes in about two months. However, Apple has yet to disclose any official timeline for the rollout.
