Vivo has officially launched a new smartphone in the Y500 series, the Y500i, in China. This model features a substantial battery and a sleek design, joining the ranks of the Y500 and Y500 Pro released last year.
The vivo Y500i is equipped with a robust 7,200mAh lithium-ion battery that supports fast charging at 44W. It operates on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, paired with options of up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

On the front, it showcases a 6.75-inch LCD display that boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution. The screen offers impressive peak brightness of 1,200 nits and features a hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera.

In terms of photography, the Y500i is equipped with a 50MP primary camera on the rear, featuring autofocus and an f/1.8 aperture. For selfies, it includes a 5MP front camera.
Additional specifications of the smartphone comprise an IP68/69 rating for water and dust resistance, SGS Gold Label 5-star certification for durability, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and an infrared sensor.

The vivo Y500i measures 8.49mm in thickness and weighs 219 grams. It is currently available in China in three colors: Galaxy Silver, Phoenix Gold, and Obsidian Black.
Pricing for the device starts at CNY 1,499 ($215) for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 8GB/256GB variant is priced at CNY 1,799 ($255), while the 8GB/512GB option retails at CNY 1,999 ($285). The higher-end models, featuring 12GB of RAM, are priced at CNY 1,999 ($285) for 256GB of storage and CNY 2,199 ($315) for 512GB.
