Earlier this week, Motorola unveiled the Signature, the premier model in a new line of premium smartphones designed to surpass the Edge series offerings. While the device is currently available for pre-order, it can soon be found in retail stores.
The Motorola Signature is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage, priced at €1,000. Despite being a sleek 7mm in thickness and weighing only 186g, its robust 5,200mAh battery outperforms competitors like Samsung, Apple, and Google, although it falls short of the capacity offered by some Chinese brands. The phone features an impressive camera setup: a 50MP primary sensor (1/1.28" LYT-828), a 50MP 3x/71mm telephoto camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP selfie camera. Motorola has committed to providing seven OS updates, with the current software already offering the company's innovative desktop mode.

Comparing the two, the OnePlus boasts superior speed with its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and a larger 7,300mAh battery. However, it measures 8.1mm thick and weighs 211g, and its camera sensors are generally smaller: the 50MP main sensor is 1/1.56" (compared to the Signature's 1/1.28"), the 50MP 3.5x/80mm periscope is 1/2.76" (versus 1/1.95"), and the 50MP 116° ultra-wide is 1/2.88" (compared to 1/2.76").

Sporting a similar aesthetic to the Signature, it offers an even slimmer design at 6mm and lighter weight of 159g, but sacrifices some battery capacity with its 4,800mAh power source. This device runs on a mid-range Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and features an LTPS display, contrasting with the Signature's LTPO display. The camera specifications are simplified as well, featuring a 50MP main sensor with a 1/1.56" sensor size, and notably lacks a telephoto lens.
