The 2026 Brussels Motor Show kicked off with excitement as DS Automobiles showcased an exciting new project: the "Taylor made N°4 Concept." This unique vehicle is a one-off design study developed in collaboration with Taylor Barnard, an emerging talent in the racing industry. Recently joining the DS PENSKE Formula E Team, this car commemorates his debut. As is often the case with concept vehicles, this model serves as a design exercise that highlights the brand's commitment to electric vehicles and high-tech aesthetics.

The concept is an extensive redesign of the standard DS N°4. The designers at DS DESIGN STUDIO worked closely with Barnard to ensure that the car embodied his personality. Drawing inspiration from professional racing and video games, the result is a vehicle that could easily cruise on both digital tracks and real roads. It features a lowered body and wider tracks, giving it an aggressive and sporty appearance.

One of the standout features of the "Taylor made N°4 Concept" is its innovative use of titanium. The body is adorned with "Pure Titanium" paint for a sleek finish, while "Liquid Titanium" adds a glossy, reflective element. Additionally, the vehicle incorporates a special "Craft Titanium" fabric, which replaces traditional carbon fiber in components like the front splitter and side skirts. The roof and rear spoiler are finished in "Black Titanium," providing a striking dark contrast.

Attention to detail enhances the car’s appeal even further. The mirrors and rims showcase "Light Gold" accents, a signature hue for DS's performance line. Splashes of purple, Barnard's favorite color, can be spotted on the door handles. Upon closer inspection, the hood and rear lighting reveal the number 77, Barnard's lucky racing number. The vehicle also features a futuristic "pixel" headlight design and a prominent "N°4" logo on the grille's center.

Although the concept took center stage, DS also unveiled the production version: the DS N°4 E-TENSE. This fully electric model is available for consumers, equipped with a 158 kW motor producing 213 hp. Its 58.3 kWh battery allows for a range of up to 280 miles on a single charge, reaching 62 mph in just 7.1 seconds. Its dimensions—14.44 ft long and 6 ft wide—make it an ideal choice for urban driving.

For those not ready for a completely electric experience, a plug-in hybrid version is available, offering between 225 hp and 240 hp. It can travel up to 50 miles solely on electric power before the gasoline engine activates. The hybrid model maintains a 145 hp output while operating in electric mode, making it suitable for city driving with a total range of 620 miles.

The interiors of these vehicles are equipped with advanced technology, enabling owners to monitor their car's battery via an app or set charging schedules. Additionally, a heat pump maintains optimal battery temperature, ensuring quicker charging in colder conditions.

If attending the Brussels Motor Show is not an option, enthusiasts will have the chance to "experience" the car virtually. DS Automobiles is collaborating with Driving Empire on the Roblox platform, allowing players to find the "Taylor made N°4 Concept" in the game by 2026. This initiative will let fans worldwide interact with the car's distinctive design and colors in a virtual environment.
