MediaTek Launches Dimensity 7100 SoC: Features and Specifications

MediaTek has officially introduced the Dimensity 7100 chipset, which is expected to succeed the 7050 model. This new chipset boasts an octa-core CPU consisting of four Arm Cortex-A78 cores that can reach speeds of up to 2.4GHz, alongside four Cortex-A55 cores operating at up to 2GHz.

Accompanying the CPU is the Mali-G610MC2 GPU. The Dimensity 7100 supports LPDDR5 memory capable of 5500Mbps and LPDDR4x memory at up to 4266Mbps. Additionally, it features UFS 3.1 storage and can handle a maximum camera resolution of 200MP. The chipset also supports display resolutions of up to 1200x2600 and refresh rates of 120Hz.

The Dimensity 7100 is equipped with a 5G modem that supports dual 5G SIMs and offers peak downlink speeds of up to 3.3Gbps. Moreover, the chipset is compatible with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, as well as extensive location services including GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC.

Rumors suggest that the upcoming Infinix Note Edge, set to be officially announced later this month, will be one of the first devices featuring the Dimensity 7100, unless it is preceded by the Tecno Pova Curve 2.
