The Pebble 2 Duo and Time 2 became available for pre-order in March. Today, they are joined by the official launch of the Pebble Round 2, created by Core Devices, the new company founded by Pebble inventor Eric Migicovsky. The ability to develop this new model stems from Google open-sourcing the Pebble OS, which Core Devices has adopted.

The Pebble Round 2 features a 1.3-inch, 260x260 resolution e-paper touchscreen display, encased in a stainless steel frame. Boasting an impressive two-week battery life, it is available for pre-order in matte black, brushed silver, and polished rose gold, priced at $199. Shipping is anticipated to commence in May.

The Pebble mobile app is compatible with both iOS and Android devices and includes basic health and activity tracking features, such as step counting and sleep monitoring. However, it is important to note that this smartwatch is not designed specifically for fitness or sports activities.

With a water resistance rating of 30 meters, the Pebble Round 2 is equipped with a linear resonance actuator for vibration alerts, four control buttons, an accelerometer, and a magnetometer. Dual microphones enable speech input and quick message replies, all within a sleek profile of just 8.1mm in thickness.
