Oppo Unveils Reno15 Pro Max and Pro Mini: A Complex Rebranding Strategy

Source: Date:

Oppo introduced the Reno15 and Reno15 Pro in China last November, with a global release anticipated soon. However, the names under which these devices will be marketed may vary significantly based on your geographic location.

Recently, the Google Play Console's Supported Devices List revealed two entries for the Reno15 Pro 5G, identified by model numbers CPH2811 and CPH2813. These are likely regional variants. The intriguing part is that the CPH2811 will also be recognized in certain markets as the much-speculated Reno15 Pro Max 5G, while the CPH2813 will be branded as the Reno15 Pro Mini 5G in different regions of the world.

This level of rebranding is unprecedented, leaving many consumers unclear about what to expect. Compounding the confusion, another device has appeared in the Google Play Console with the model number CPH2801, which has been affiliated with no fewer than four different names, likely dependent on the target market.

This device is known as the Reno15 C 5G, as well as the Reno15 F 5G, Reno15 A, and the Reno15 FS 5G. Despite sharing the same model number, these are all essentially the same device. If you feel perplexed by Oppo's Reno15 lineup, rest assured that you're not alone; many share your confusion.
