While nothing is officially confirmed yet, reports suggest that the Samsung Exynos 2600 chip, which is the first to utilize a 2nm manufacturing process, may power the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip8 and potentially the S26 series in certain markets. At its unveiling, Samsung remained notably silent about the modem associated with the Exynos 2600. However, new information has emerged regarding the Exynos Modem 5410, which might be included in the Exynos 2600 package.

The Exynos Modem 5410 integrates LTE DTC, NB IoT NTN, and NR NTN capabilities into a single chip. NB IoT NTN, or NarrowBand Internet of Things Non-Terrestrial Networks, operates at the lower end of the communication spectrum, providing reliable, albeit sparse, data throughput for applications such as location data or text transmission, even in remote areas like deserts or oceans, certified by Skylo.

LTE DTC, which stands for Long Term Evolution Direct to Cell, stands out as a significant feature, as it promises extended satellite communication capabilities including voice calls. Additionally, NR NTN, or New Radio Non-Terrestrial Networks, is expected to improve data throughput further, potentially enabling satellite video calls in the future.

Although we lack confirmation that the Exynos Modem 5410 will be included in the Galaxy S26 series, it is positioned as one of the company’s most premium modems, manufactured using an advanced 4nm EUV process. It adheres to the 3GPP Release 17 standard, supports 5G NR dual connectivity across FR1 sub 6GHz and FR2 mmWave, and has a peak download throughput of up to 14.79Gbps.
