Xiaomi has officially launched the 17 Ultra flagship phone in China, alongside a special Leica edition featuring unique design elements and a mechanical zoom ring.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra boasts a Leica-branded triple rear camera setup, highlighted by a primary 50MP 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor with LOFIC technology support. It is complemented by a 200MP Samsung HPE 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto lens offering continuous optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus.
On the front, the phone features a flat 6.9-inch M10 AMOLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2608 x 1200 resolution, and peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The display is protected by Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0. Additionally, there is a 50MP selfie camera and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, the 17 Ultra offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3.0 with several integrated AI features.
The handset includes a substantial 6,800mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W wired reverse charging.
Other features include an infrared sensor, dual SIM support, Hi-Res audio, stereo speakers, a quad-mic array, IP66/IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance ratings, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and satellite communication capabilities. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is available in Black, Cool Smoke Purple, Starry Green, and White finishes.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition

The Leica edition shares the standard model’s specifications but adds a mechanical zoom ring for precise adjustment of focal length, exposure, and white balance.
This variant showcases a dual-tone design inspired by Leica M-series cameras, featuring a knurled frame pattern and the signature red Leica logo on the back.

Exclusive Leica Moment modes support a 3:2 aspect ratio, while additional security is provided by a dedicated encryption chip. Dual-satellite communication is also included. The package comes with a special box containing a lens cap, lanyard, magnetic case, and cleaning cloth.
The Leica edition is offered in Black and Off-White colors. Both the standard and Leica models will be available in China starting December 27 through Xiaomi’s official online store.
Pricing for the standard Xiaomi 17 Ultra starts at CNY 6,999 ($995) for the 12GB/512GB version, CNY 7,499 ($1,065) for 16GB/512GB, and CNY 8,499 ($1,210) for 16GB/1TB configurations.
The Leica edition is priced at CNY 7,999 ($1,140) for the 16GB/512GB model and CNY 8,999 ($1,280) for the 16GB/1TB variant.
