While nothing is officially confirmed, recent developments suggest the Samsung Galaxy S26 series could support satellite voice calls. The key component is the Samsung Exynos 2600 chip, reportedly the first built on a 2nm process. This chip is rumored to power the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip8 and possibly the S26 series in at least one market. However, Samsung initially remained silent about the modem integrated with this chip. New information has since emerged about the Exynos Modem 5410, which could be part of the Exynos 2600 package.

The Exynos Modem 5410 combines LTE DTC, NB IoT NTN, and NR NTN on a single chip. NB IoT NTN (NarrowBand Internet of Things Non-Terrestrial Networks) supports low-bandwidth data such as location tracking or text transmission, providing reliable connectivity even in remote areas like deserts or oceans. Samsung has confirmed this feature is certified by Skylo.

LTE DTC (Long Term Evolution Direct to Cell) is particularly noteworthy as it promises extended satellite communication capabilities, including voice calls over satellite. Additionally, NR NTN (New Radio Non-Terrestrial Networks) offers enhanced data throughput that could enable satellite video calls in the future.

Although there is no official confirmation that the Exynos Modem 5410 will be included in the Galaxy S26 series, it stands as one of Samsung's most advanced modems. Manufactured using a cutting-edge 4nm EUV process, it complies with the 3GPP Release 17 standard and supports 5G NR dual connectivity across FR1 sub-6GHz and FR2 mmWave bands. The modem offers peak download speeds up to 14.79Gbps.
