Introducing the Moto X70 Air Pro: Faster Charging and Advanced AI on the Horizon

Motorola is gearing up to launch an upgraded variant of its Moto X70 Air lineup, the Moto X70 Air Pro, which promises to deliver faster charging speeds and advanced AI capabilities. While full specifications remain under wraps, early sightings hint at significant improvements, including support for 90W wired charging—surpassing the 67W charging speed of the original X70 Air and the global Motorola Edge 70.

The Moto X70 Air Pro, identified by the model number XT2603-1 in the Chinese 3C certification database, will support up to 90W fast wired charging—raising the bar from its predecessor's 67W capacity. No official launch timeline has been confirmed yet, but January is considered a likely window for its release.

The device also surfaced on the Geekbench benchmark database, revealing that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 5 chipset, according to tipster Anvin. This updated processor is expected to deliver better performance and efficiency compared to previous models.

Additionally, Motorola is reportedly working on another phone featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which could be the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra or their first Signature series device, aimed at delivering flagship-level performance.

User Preferences on Smartphone Features

According to a recent poll with 33 voters, a large battery in a slim phone remains the most important feature for over 51% of participants, followed by pro-level cameras (30.3%) and flagship performance (18.2%). Interestingly, fast charging—even at the expense of battery size—ranked lowest with no votes.

Despite Motorola’s progress, the iPhone Air has been struggling with poor sales, and Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge may not have a successor after disappointing market performance. Hence, pricing will be crucial for the success of devices like the Moto X70 Air Pro as competition intensifies in the mid-to-premium smartphone segment.
