Nothing is continuing its rollout of the Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 update, delivering the latest features and improvements to more of its budget-friendly phones. Despite an initial temporary pause in the update release, the company has resolved the issues and is now expanding support to additional devices.

Android 16 Arrives on Two CMF Devices

Nothing has officially launched the stable version of Nothing OS 4 for both the CMF Phone (1) and the CMF Phone (2) Pro. This move fulfills the company's earlier commitment to update these devices before the year’s end, ensuring users have access to the latest Android experience.

Next in Line: Nothing Phone (3a) in January

Looking ahead, the Nothing Phone (3a) is set to get the Nothing OS 4 update early in January. This final release will complete the broad rollout of Nothing OS 4 across all eligible Nothing devices.

Update Details and Support

This latest update marks the final major OS upgrade for the CMF Phone (1), and the first for the CMF Phone (2) Pro. The latter benefits from eligibility for up to three Android version updates and will receive updates up to Android 16. Additionally, Nothing has committed to providing six years of security patch support for the CMF Phone (2) Pro, highlighting its dedication to long-term device care.
