Xiaomi has officially unveiled its flagship Xiaomi 17 Ultra in China, alongside a special Leica edition featuring unique design elements and a mechanical zoom ring.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra sports a Leica-branded triple rear camera setup, highlighted by a 50MP 1-inch Light Fusion 1050L sensor with LOFIC technology support. It is complemented by a 200MP Samsung HPE 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto lens offering continuous optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus.

On the front, the device features a flat 6.9-inch M10 AMOLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2608 x 1200 resolution, and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. The display is shielded by Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0. A 50MP selfie camera and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner complete the front-facing features.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3.0 out of the box, featuring multiple AI enhancements.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra includes a robust 6,800mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W wired reverse charging.

Additional features include an infrared sensor, dual SIM support, Hi-Res audio, stereo speakers, a quad-mic array, IP66/IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and satellite communication. The phone is available in Black, Cool Smoke Purple, Starry Green, and White.

The Leica edition shares the same specifications as the standard model but includes a mechanical zoom ring for adjusting focal length, exposure, and white balance. It features a dual-tone design inspired by Leica’s M-series cameras, a knurled frame, and the iconic red Leica logo on the back.

This edition also offers Leica Moment modes in a 3:2 aspect ratio, a security and encryption chip, and dual-satellite communication. The package includes a lens cap, lanyard, magnetic case, and cleaning cloth in a special box. It is available in Black and Off-White colors.

Both versions go on sale in China starting December 27 via Xiaomi’s official online store.

Pricing for the standard Xiaomi 17 Ultra starts at CNY 6,999 ($995) for the 12GB/512GB variant, CNY 7,499 ($1,065) for the 16GB/512GB model, and CNY 8,499 ($1,210) for the 16GB/1TB option. The Leica edition is priced at CNY 7,999 ($1,140) for 16GB/512GB and CNY 8,999 ($1,280) for 16GB/1TB.
