Jon Prosser, who was previously sued by Apple for allegedly stealing trade secrets, is back with fresh renders of Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone. The lawsuit accused Prosser and another individual, Michael Ramacciotti, of conspiring to access confidential information about iOS 26 by breaking into a development device belonging to Apple employee Ethan Lipnik. Despite the legal challenges, Prosser and his channel Front Page Technology (FPT) continue to share exclusive insights and renders related to Apple’s future products.
New iPhone Fold Renders from Jon Prosser and FPT
Legal troubles haven’t slowed Prosser down. Last August, just a month before the official launch of the iPhone 17 series, FPT posted renders of the iPhone 17 Pro. Now, the latest FPT video reveals detailed renders and information about the iPhone Fold. This follows earlier CAD-based leaks and renders posted on social media platforms like X by other reputable leakers such as Ice Universe.

According to Prosser, Apple has chosen a book-style foldable design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. One notable challenge with current foldable devices is the visible crease along the foldable display. While some rumors suggested Apple had not fully eliminated this crease, Prosser states Apple has developed a solution employing a metal plate that evenly distributes bending pressure to minimize crease visibility. Additionally, the hinge reportedly uses liquid metal technology to help reduce the crease as well.

Prosser also echoes rumors about the phone’s potential starting price range between $2,000 and $2,500. Another circulating speculation is that Apple may brand the device as the iPhone Ultra, though “iPhone Fold” remains a strong and descriptive name.
Impact on the Foldable Smartphone Market
The foldable smartphone category currently captures just 1% to 2.5% of global smartphone sales, but this figure is expected to grow significantly once Apple enters the market. The anticipated launch of the iPhone Fold as early as next September could finally propel foldables into the mainstream. Industry forecasts predict foldables could climb to represent up to 5% of worldwide smartphone sales by 2028.
Your Thoughts?
With less than a fifth of respondents from a recent vote enthusiastically planning to buy the first foldable iPhone and half expressing hesitation, it’s clear the market remains mixed on foldables.
