Sony and Honda’s automotive joint venture, Sony Honda Mobility (SHM), has announced that the Afeela will be the world’s first vehicle to support PS Remote Play streaming.
This innovative feature allows users to stream PlayStation games remotely from their PS5 or PS4 consoles, providing a unique in-car entertainment experience.
Gamers will be able to access and control their PS5 or PS4 directly through the Afeela’s in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system. Passengers can enjoy gaming whether the vehicle is in motion or stationary, while drivers can use the feature only when the car is parked for safety.
According to SHM’s press release, a minimum internet speed of 5Mbps is required for PS Remote Play, with a stable connection of over 15Mbps recommended to ensure smooth gameplay.
The Afeela model was first unveiled at CES in January, following a teaser released exactly one year prior.
