The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be unveiled on December 25, accompanied by the launch of the Xiaomi Watch 5. This new wearable represents Xiaomi's most premium smartwatch to date, featuring a stainless steel case and a sapphire crystal screen—materials commonly used in high-end analog watches.
The Xiaomi Watch 5 introduces an EMG (electromyography) sensor, designed to detect electrical signals generated by muscles. This technology could enable gesture-based navigation, such as flicking the wrist or air tapping, and may also help analyze muscle fatigue.

Powered by the Snapdragon W5 chipset, the Xiaomi Watch 5 runs on HyperOS. It remains unclear whether HyperOS is a customized skin over Google's Wear OS or a fully proprietary system. The smartwatch will be available with three strap options: leather, steel, and rubber/silicone.
While an international release of the Xiaomi Watch 5 is not confirmed, it is expected to coincide with the global launch of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
