XPeng has unveiled the latest update to its X9 electric minivan, a spacious Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) designed for families seeking comfort combined with cutting-edge technology. The new model features a larger battery capacity and advanced computing capabilities, elevating performance and convenience.

The most notable enhancement is the X9’s extended driving range, enabled by a new 110 kWh battery pack supplied by CALB-Tech. This upgrade allows the front-wheel-drive version to travel up to 750 km on a single charge, while the all-wheel-drive variant offers a range of 710 km. Both figures represent a significant increase compared to previous models, which had battery packs of 94.8 kWh and 105 kWh that delivered between 650 km and 740 km.

The updated X9 measures 5.31 meters in length, extending 23 mm beyond its predecessor, while maintaining a width of 1.98 meters, a height of 1.78 meters, and a wheelbase of 3.16 meters. Due to its robust battery and sturdy chassis, the vehicle weighs 2,740 kg in the all-wheel-drive configuration and 2,685 kg for the front-wheel-drive model.

Performance remains impressive, with the front-wheel-drive X9 powered by a 235 kW (315 hp) motor. The all-wheel-drive model incorporates an additional 135 kW rear motor, boosting total output to 370 kW (496 hp). This setup provides ample power for smooth acceleration, highway merging, and hill climbs—even when fully loaded.

XPeng brands the X9 as an "AI vehicle" due to its sophisticated onboard computing. The vehicle is equipped with three proprietary "Turing AI" chips capable of processing 2,250 trillion operations per second. Two chips are dedicated to autonomous driving and safety systems, while the third manages the intelligent cockpit, including displays, voice control, and entertainment features, enhancing the in-cabin experience on longer journeys.

The design preserves the sleek, contemporary styling of the previous generation, with subtle updates to the front and rear bumpers that align the fully electric version more closely with the extended-range model. These refinements help maintain a premium appearance, positioning the X9 alongside the world’s top luxury vans.

XPeng has seen remarkable success beyond its domestic market, notably in Denmark, where it emerged as the leading Chinese automotive brand within just three years. Denmark’s competitive EV market, where over 65% of new vehicles sold are electric, has embraced XPeng’s models such as the G6 and G9 SUVs, fueling steady monthly growth.

The company’s global expansion continues at a rapid pace. From January to November 2025, XPeng delivered 39,773 vehicles internationally—nearly double the previous year’s volume. In November alone, it achieved a milestone by registering over 2,000 vehicles in Europe within a single month. With 321 service centers across 52 countries, XPeng ensures comprehensive aftersales support worldwide.

Pricing varies by configuration. In China, the fully electric X9 ranges from RMB 359,800 to RMB 459,800 (€43,600–€55,700), while the extended-range variant, which includes a small gasoline engine to recharge the battery, is priced between RMB 309,800 and RMB 329,800 (€37,600–€39,900), depending on trim levels.

Consumer response has been very positive. In November, XPeng delivered 3,234 units of the X9, marking a 161% increase from the previous month. The X9 also leads electric minivan sales in Thailand for three consecutive months, demonstrating that family-oriented vehicles can combine intelligence and power to rival sportier models.
