Following these, custom ROMs emerged as the third most favored option, a surprising but welcome result given the decline in custom ROM usage in recent years. ROMs like LineageOS remain valuable, especially for extending support and security updates on older devices.

Nothing OS claimed the next spot, known for its minimalist UI and distinctive dot-matrix design that appeals to a dedicated fan base. Nearly as many respondents indicated they were indifferent to Android skins altogether.

This aligns with responses to another poll question about the importance of Android skins. Over 43% of participants find skins important but not critical, while almost 40% buy devices based on their preferred skin, confirming the role skins play in buying decisions.

In the popularity rankings, Oppo’s ColorOS took fourth place, narrowly surpassing Xiaomi’s HyperOS, Motorola’s Hello UI, Honor’s MagicOS, and Sony’s Xperia UI. The least favored skin in the poll was vivo’s ColorOS.
