T-Mobile, known for its 5G Home Internet, fiber internet, and T-Satellite services, is investing heavily in the growth and wellbeing of small towns and rural communities across the U.S. Over the past four years, the company has contributed $20 million through its Hometown Grants program, benefiting 450 communities in 48 states and Puerto Rico.
Empowering Small Towns to Flourish
Through its Hometown Grants initiative, T-Mobile awards funds to small towns that often lack the necessary resources to launch projects aimed at improving residents’ quality of life. In the most recent round, 25 towns each received grants up to $50,000 to support community development projects. The selection of grant recipients is done in partnership with the nonprofit Main Street America, ensuring the funds reach deserving and impactful endeavors.
“When we launched Hometown Grants four years ago, our goal was to make a tangible difference in the lives of small town Americans,” said Jon Freier, T-Mobile’s Chief Operating Officer, in December 2025. “Today, more than 450 projects are benefiting 2.6 million people — and we’re just getting started.”
Investing Beyond Customer Boundaries
Unlike many corporate philanthropy efforts that target only their customer base, T-Mobile’s small town grants reach all community members regardless of their mobile service provider. This initiative demonstrates the company’s commitment to community upliftment, rather than just expanding its own market share.
This substantial investment also helps alleviate concerns about T-Mobile focusing disproportionately on urban areas, proving the company values rural development and sustainability.

Building stronger, healthier communities, one project at a time, benefits everyone and creates a foundation for shared future success.
