Redmi Note 15 Pro and Pro 5G Launch with Larger Batteries, Improved Displays, and Enhanced Features

The Redmi Note 15 series has gone global, introducing five new models. This article focuses on the two Pro variants, which offer incremental improvements over their predecessors.

Both models feature larger batteries than before. The Redmi Note 15 Pro is equipped with a 6,500mAh battery supporting 45W charging, while the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G offers a slightly bigger 6,580mAh silicon–carbon battery.

Wired charging remains capped at 45W for both phones. However, the Note 15 Pro 5G supports reverse wired charging at 22.5W, compared to 18W on the Note 15 Pro.

The design includes flat AMOLED displays. The Note 15 Pro 5G sports a 6.83-inch panel with 1.5K resolution (2772 x 1280 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Note 15 Pro offers a slightly smaller 6.77-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution (2392 x 1080 pixels) at 120Hz. Both screens deliver 12-bit color and reach 3200 nits peak local brightness. The Note 15 Pro 5G also features a higher 480Hz touch sampling rate, while the Note 15 Pro has 240Hz.

Both models come with dual speakers supporting Dolby Atmos and upgraded ingress protection. The Note 15 Pro is rated IP65, an improvement from its predecessor’s IP64. The Note 15 Pro 5G holds IP68 and IP69K certifications, enhancing durability over last year's IP68 rating.

Under the hood, the phones are powered by updated MediaTek chipsets with modest CPU clock speed and NPU enhancements. The Note 15 Pro uses the Helio G200-Ultra, while the Note 15 Pro 5G runs on the Dimensity 7400-Ultra. RAM options include 8GB or 12GB, with storage choices of 256GB or 512GB.

The camera setup is headlined by a shared 200MP ISOCELL S5KHPE main sensor. The Note 15 Pro 5G pairs this with an 8MP OV08F10 ultrawide lens, whereas the 4G Note 15 Pro has an 8MP GC08A8 ultrawide sensor. For selfies, the Note 15 Pro includes a 32MP OV32D40 front camera, while the 5G variant offers a 20MP OV20B shooter.

Both models launch with HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15, incorporating Xiaomi’s AI suite with features like AI Erase Pro, AI Remove Reflection, AI Image Expansion, and AI Image Enhancement.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro is available in Titanium, Glacier Blue, and Black, starting at €349 (£249) for the 8GB/256GB variant.

The Note 15 Pro 5G will come in Titanium, Glacier Blue, Mist Purple, and Black. The base 8GB/256GB version costs €399 (£349), while the 8GB/512GB option is priced at €429 (£399).

Pre-orders are expected to begin on January 5.
