Apple has officially released iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 for compatible iPhones and iPads. The iOS 26.2 update introduces several new features, including the ability to set an alarm when a reminder is due, customizable opacity for the time display on the lock screen, enhanced AirDrop functionality, and updates to the Podcasts app.
Additionally, Live Translation now works with AirPods across the European Union, and users in Japan gain support for alternative app stores and third-party voice assistants.

For iPadOS 26.2, multitasking capabilities have been improved. Users can now drag and drop apps from the dock, Spotlight Search, and the App Library into various views, such as Slide Over. Dragging an app to the far left or right activates Slide Over mode, while dragging left or right enters a tiled view. Placing an app in the center opens a window that can be resized, with on-screen indicators providing clear guidance.
Both updates are available for immediate download. If you have not received a notification yet, you can manually check by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update on your device.
