Samsung’s initial inventory was wiped out almost instantly due to the challenges involved in manufacturing this complex device. The company plans to restock online and offline briefly, but it remains unclear if these units will satisfy the demand or if more waves will be necessary. A Production Increase Is Unlikely

Pricing Challenges

Surprisingly, the Galaxy Z TriFold’s retail price of $2,455 may actually be too low to make the device a lucrative business move for Samsung. The company reportedly had to cut back significantly to hit this price point, which raises questions about the financial viability of triple-fold foldables becoming mainstream anytime soon.

Where Should Samsung Focus Next?

Given the steep challenges of triple-foldables, it may be wise for Samsung to continue concentrating on more conventional foldable phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. With Apple reportedly preparing to enter the foldable market, Samsung’s continued dominance will depend on refining and expanding these more mainstream, proven designs rather than allocating resources to niche experiments.
