HMD Pearl Spotted on Geekbench, Potentially the New Pulse 2 Pro with Unisoc T7250 Chipset

Source: Date:

An unannounced HMD phone, codenamed “Pearl,” has appeared on Geekbench running Android 15 and powered by a Unisoc processor paired with 4GB of RAM.

Identifying the chipset, the device reportedly uses the Unisoc T7250. Although the motherboard designation “ums9230_6h10” typically corresponds to T606/T615/T616 chips, the CPU clock speeds—2 cores at 1.82GHz and 6 cores at 1.61GHz—align with the T7250. By comparison, the T606, T615, and T616 run at 1.6GHz across all cores. Both the T606 and T7250 feature a Mali-G57 GPU.

Geekbench 6.2.2 Benchmark: HMD Pearl (Likely the Pulse 2 Pro)

The current HMD Pulse series uses the Unisoc T606, with benchmark scores around 392 single-core and 1,385 multi-core. The T7250’s slightly higher clock speeds give it a modest performance advantage.

This is noteworthy because the recently leaked HMD Pulse 2 Pro reportedly includes a T615 chipset and 6GB RAM. Given that the original Pulse offered both 4GB and 6GB models, this variation is expected. However, it’s possible that the leak confused the T615 with the closely related T7250.

RAM size is particularly important as Android 16 is rumored to require a minimum of 6GB RAM. Devices with 4GB are expected to upgrade only to Android 16 Go Edition, even if they currently run the full Android 15. Recent increases in RAM prices may encourage manufacturers to continue producing 4GB models, potentially prompting Google to revisit their requirements.

HMD Pulse 2 Pro Details

The Pulse 2 Pro ships with Android 15, in line with Geekbench’s report on the Pearl, supporting the possibility that they are the same device. The existence of both 4GB and 6GB variants raises questions about the future Android 16 upgrade path.
