Polestar 4 Launches in US and Canada with Competitive Pricing and Dual SUV Options

Source: Date:

Polestar has officially started delivering the highly anticipated Polestar 4 SUV coupe to customers across the United States and Canada. This new addition complements the larger Polestar 3 SUV, offering North American buyers two distinct premium electric SUV options. Notably, the Polestar 4 debuts with a more competitive starting price than initially announced, enhancing its appeal to the market.

The Polestar lineup now includes two utility vehicle styles: the traditional, larger SUV Polestar 3, and the sleeker, coupe-like Polestar 4. This diversity aligns with current consumer preferences and strengthens Polestar’s position in North America.

Rick Bryant, Head of Polestar North America, emphasized the strategic importance of offering two unique SUVs. Having both models available immediately is a significant advantage for Polestar and its retail partners across the continent.

Deliveries began in Florida, the second-largest sales market after California. The very first Polestar 4 was delivered at Polestar Miami, the brand’s largest retail location in the state. Polestar anticipates delivery volumes will accelerate throughout the US and Canada in the coming weeks, enabling customers who have placed orders to receive their vehicles promptly.

The most noteworthy update is the revised pricing. Initially, the Polestar 4 was priced at €46,900 for North American customers, later increasing to €48,100 for the South Korean-assembled model. Now, pricing listed on Polestar’s website is considerably more competitive.

Shoppers can configure the rear-wheel-drive, single-motor Polestar 4 starting at an MSRP of €39,600. This version delivers 272 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 97 km/h in 6.9 seconds. It offers an EPA-estimated range of 499 km and supports charging speeds up to 200 kW. Charging from 10% to 80% at a public DC fast charger takes approximately 30 minutes, while home charging at 11 kW requires about 11 hours from 0% to 100%.

For those seeking enhanced performance, the Long Range Dual Motor variant starts at €45,200. It produces 544 horsepower and 686 Nm of torque, achieving 0-97 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. This model offers a slightly reduced range of 451 km on a full charge. Polestar has indicated that these lower prices are part of a limited-time offer, further improving the Polestar 4’s value proposition in the market.

The Polestar 4’s North American launch came after extensive delays. Unveiled in 2023, deliveries began in China that same year, followed by Europe and Australia in early 2024. However, North American customers had to wait longer due to internal restructuring, changes in leadership, and supply chain challenges, including trade tariff concerns.

Polestar announced in June that the North American Polestar 4 models would be assembled in South Korea rather than China, reflecting a strategic shift to better serve the market. The 2026 model year Polestar 4 officially marked its entry into the US and Canadian markets this year.
