Apple is rumored to enter the foldable smartphone market next year with a device widely referred to as the iPhone Fold, although its official name remains unconfirmed.
Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station recently shared new details about the upcoming device on Weibo. According to the source, the iPhone Fold will feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, following the design trend of book-style foldable smartphones.

The report states that the iPhone Fold will not include Face ID or an under-display fingerprint scanner. The main folding screen is expected to measure 7.58 inches diagonally and will incorporate an under-display selfie camera. Meanwhile, the cover display will be 5.25 inches diagonally, equipped with a hole-punch selfie camera.
Additionally, the device is said to house two rear cameras, with at least one featuring a 48MP sensor. Industry analysts anticipate that the iPhone Fold could reinvigorate the foldable smartphone sector upon its expected launch in 2026. Whether foldables will finally become mainstream remains to be seen.
