Volkswagen has revealed essential details about the forthcoming ID. Polo, accompanied by images showcasing the model in camouflage. Here’s everything you need to know.

The new ID. Polo is scheduled for launch in spring 2026 and will be available with three power output options: 85 kW (116 PS), 99 kW (135 PS), and 155 kW (211 PS). A sportier ID. Polo GTI variant delivering 166 kW (226 PS) is expected to follow the next year.

The base 85 kW and 99 kW models will feature a 37 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, supporting DC fast charging up to 90 kW. The higher-output 155 kW and 166 kW versions will be equipped with a 52 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery capable of charging at up to 130 kW DC and providing a driving range of up to 450 km.

All ID. Polo variants come with a front-mounted electric motor. They also include VW’s Travel Assist system, which offers assisted lateral and longitudinal driving, including lane changes on highways. The system can detect traffic lights and stop signs for enhanced safety and convenience.

The ID. Polo measures 4,053 mm in length, 1,816 mm in width, 1,530 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. While the exterior dimensions closely match the previous Polo, the new model offers an additional 19 mm of interior space, especially noticeable in the rear seats. The boot capacity is 435 liters, expandable to 1,243 liters with the rear seats folded. The ID. Polo will be available exclusively as a five-seat, four-door hatchback.

Currently undergoing global testing, Volkswagen aims to ensure the highest quality and attention to detail for the ID. Polo. The starting price is expected to be around €25,000.
