The OnePlus 15R is set to launch globally on December 17, promising to shake up the mid-range smartphone segment with some standout features. While OnePlus has revealed details about both the OnePlus 15 and 15R, the battery specifications of the 15R have recently come to light, painting an exciting picture for prospective buyers.
OnePlus 15R to Feature an Enormous 8,300 mAh Battery
According to a post by OnePlus president Louis Li on Weibo (source in Chinese), the OnePlus Ace 6T – also known as the OnePlus 15R in global markets – will pack a colossal 8,300 mAh battery. This is notably larger than the OnePlus 15’s battery capacity, which supports fast charging up to 120W, although the international OnePlus 15 variant includes an 80W charger and maxes out charging at 100W. The 15R will support 100W wired charging, making it not just a device with exceptional battery endurance but also with efficient recharge speeds.
Powerful Features Wrapped in a Competitive Mid-Range Device
Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and a striking 165Hz display, the OnePlus 15R targets mid-range users seeking powerful performance. Additional features include a Glacier Cooling system for enhanced thermal management, IP69-rated water and dust resistance for durability, and an advanced 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor embedded below the display.

Competitive Landscape and Future Contenders
The OnePlus 15R will enter a crowded arena featuring contenders such as the Google Pixel 9a, Samsung Galaxy A56, and iPhone 16e. While newer models like the Galaxy A57, Galaxy A77, iPhone 17e, and Pixel 10a are expected to arrive early next year, none currently match the 15R’s exceptional battery size of 8,300 mAh.
Setting a New Benchmark for Battery Life
With this massive battery capacity, the OnePlus 15R is establishing a new standard in the mid-range market segment. Potential users can expect longer usage times and efficient charging capabilities, combining convenience with high performance.
