According to reports based on internal Apple developer code, the company is working on incorporating Touch ID technology, also known as a fingerprint scanner, into its future Apple Watches
This feature is expected to debut in the Apple Watch Ultra 4 next year at the earliest. The internal code refers to "AppleMesa", Apple's codename for Touch ID, indicating the ongoing development of this technology for watches.

While the exact placement of the fingerprint sensor on the watch remains unknown, possibilities include embedding it into a button, the screen, or the side button, similar to smartphone designs. As this feature is still in the prototype stage, it will not be available in watches launching this year.
Rumors suggest a major redesign for Apple Watches in 2026, potentially featuring a new processor alongside the anticipated Touch ID integration.
