In recent years, smartwatches have become increasingly popular due to their advanced health and fitness tracking capabilities. Samsung's Galaxy Watch series, through the Samsung Health Monitor app, offers features like monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, and sleep patterns. Initially available in only 34 countries, Samsung has now expanded the Sleep Apnea feature to more markets following approvals from regulatory agencies.
With the approval from the European Conformity organization, the Sleep Apnea feature is now available in 34 European markets. Additionally, Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration and Singapore's Health Sciences Authority have also approved the feature, allowing users in these countries to benefit from it.
The Sleep Apnea feature is compatible with the Galaxy Watch 4 series and later models running Wear OS 5.0 or later, paired with a Galaxy smartphone running Android 12.0 or later. Samsung emphasizes that this feature should not be used as a replacement for professional medical diagnosis or treatment.
