Spotify has experienced a surge in premium user growth, adding five million subscribers in the first quarter of this year. This marks a 12% increase compared to the same period in 2024, bringing the total number of paying subscribers to 268 million.
In addition to the growth in premium users, Spotify also reported a record quarterly operating income of €509 million and revenue of €4.2 billion. The music streaming service now boasts a total of 678 million monthly active users, including 423 million ad-supported monthly active users.
Despite some discrepancies in the user numbers, Spotify's financial performance indicates a mature and profitable business. The platform continues to lead the global music streaming market, showcasing steady growth in both user base and revenue.
