Samsung Electronics announced today that it has achieved an all-time high in quarterly revenue for Q1. The company's revenue reached KRW 79.14 trillion ($57.36 billion) due to strong sales of the latest Galaxy S25 flagship series. Operating profit was reported at KRW 6.7 trillion ($4.89 billion).
In addition, Samsung's Research & Development spending increased by 16% from the previous year to 9 trillion won ($6.3 billion). The Device Solutions business, which includes semiconductors and displays, generated significant revenue and operating profits.
The company also announced plans to launch new GPUs to meet the growing demand for AI-related chips. Samsung's industry-leading 10.7Gbps LPDDR5x memory chip will support AI processing.
Despite seasonal challenges, Samsung Foundry focused on its 2nm GAA process node. The company aims to start mass production in the 2nm node in the second half of the year.
Samsung Display reported sales of KRW 5.9 trillion and operating profit of KRW 0.5 trillion for Q1. The company is optimistic about increasing Q2 television sales with the addition of AI features.
On the London Stock Exchange, Samsung's Global Depository Receipts closed positively.
