Recent leaks regarding the camera specifications of the upcoming Google Pixel 10 series phones have caused quite a stir among tech enthusiasts. The expected changes in the camera setup, including the addition of a dedicated telephoto lens in the base model Pixel 10, as well as other surprising upgrades and downgrades, have sparked a lot of discussion.

The Pixel 10 is rumored to feature a new 11MP Samsung 3J1 telephoto sensor, a departure from Google's usual camera setup. However, this addition comes with some trade-offs. The main and ultrawide cameras on the Pixel 10 are reportedly getting downgraded sensors, with the primary sensor being the Samsung GN8 and the ultrawide camera switching to the Sony IMX712.

On the other hand, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are expected to retain the 50MP Samsung GNV main camera and feature a 48MP Sony IMX858 ultrawide camera and telephoto camera. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold, on the other hand, is said to have a minor update in its main camera sensor.

Pixel 10:
  • Main camera: 50MP Samsung GN8
  • Ultrawide camera: 13MP Sony IMX712
  • Telephoto camera: 11MP Samsung 3J1 (first time in a base Pixel)
Pixel 10 Pro / Pixel 10 Pro XL:
  • Main camera: 50MP Samsung GNV (unchanged)
  • Ultrawide camera: 48MP Sony IMX858
  • Telephoto camera: 48MP Sony IMX858
Pixel 10 Pro Fold:
  • Main camera: 50MP Samsung GN8 (minor update)
  • Ultrawide and telephoto: unchanged
